Chapter 7: Two Blondes Were Driving To Disneyland. The Sign Said: Disneyland Left.. So They Stared Crying and Headed Home.

It was that quiet moment right before the storm that is so unsettling. My place is that of authority. Instead of sitting with the umons, my location was further into the main-island (Karpland) and to give orders. Max and Katherine are by my side to telepathically transmit as well as act as a second set of eyes.

Miro and I discussed this at length and he thought it would make very good theater for the tourists. “Why cancel our tourist trade, mon ami? Why not make this part of the show? It will be a spectacular event like Barnum And Bailey, no? We will set up bleachers and sell tickets. It’s not everyday one can witness an actual battle. We just won’t tell them that it’s real.” Miro was always full of great ideas. Hopefully none of the tourists will be shot or killed, but knowing Miro, I’m sure he had that aspect covered.

“Ivan I assure you. You have nothing to worry about, trust me.” He was always so calm and self-assured. “I wish I could calm down Miro, but this is so unsettling.” I said. “Mon ami you must realize we are dealing with one who posses a reptilian brain. He thinks he can outsmart us but his focus is on one thing and one thing only, revenge and triumph. Then he will work on devouring his conquest. This is very predictable and of course he will stop at nothing. But Ivan my friend we have a secret weapon.” “What’s that Miro?” “Our brains are bigger and more developed. We also have a communication system he does not posses. Even if he captured an umon and used it to translate, the umon would not cooperate. So you see you have nothing to worry about. Have another drink and pop another Valium. That will calm your nerves.” He chuckled. “At the very least the tourists will have a fine time observing the encounter. We have sold over three hundred tickets. Lot’s of refreshments as well.”

I was feeling a little better after our talk, but again, I was picking up on something that just didn’t seem kosher.

Then it happened. I heard something that seemed to be coming from above. Seemed like some sort of whirling sound. My suspicions were right. We had indeed underestimated Ash. What was about to happen was not what we expected and not going to be pretty…

Stay tuned…
